Repeat Prescriptions

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS REQUIRE 48 HOURS NOTICE.

You may either hand in your re-order form (to surgery reception, or your nominated chemist), post it (enclosing a stamped addressed envelope), fax it, or scan in your re-order form and e-mail it.  We cannot accept email repeat prescriptions without a clear scanned image as, for your safety, we must ensure we can see your full details and the correct medication you are on.

Fax order to: 01369 704430 or E mail: High-UHB.GP84256@nhs.net

Repeat prescriptions are not accepted by telephone, unless you are housebound. We are reluctant to tie up the telephone lines taking repeat prescription requests as a patient with an emergency may not be able to get through, this also reduces prescribing errors. The time taken to process repeat prescription orders is the same, regardless of how you choose to re-order, because:

1. Doctors are in surgery all morning and all afternoon, so prescriptions are signed twice a day, at the end of surgery.

2. The chemists collect prescription orders from us once or twice a day, but sometimes they come before the prescriptions are signed.

3. The chemist requires 24 hours to make up a prescription. They are very busy and may need to order what you require.

By giving us two days notice, you help us to provide you with an efficient service.
